I'm Married...Now What?
I'm married. It's weird.
Getting married was the BEST, most exciting thing ever, and life with Bryan has been absolutely amazing. As cheesy as it sounds, I fall more and more in love with him everyday and we're certainly enjoying this new down time that we have together...finally going out on dinner dates, relaxing...it's been great.
But getting back from your honeymoon is pretty weird. You basically go from having SO much to do and ZERO time for the last year, to all of a sudden having time to take a step back and reevaluate the things in your life. Especially in the last month leading up to the wedding, there's so much build up and craziness, and then the actual wedding + honeymoon is a whirlwind of emotions and excitement.
Now all of a sudden having some free time has been a transition. I absolutely love relaxing (self-care!) and also having time to do all of those little things on your to-do list. I've been able to get back on track with some of my routines that fell off such as my meditation practice (10 minutes a day every weekday morning). I've been doing a lot of reflecting, paying more attention to my feelings and thinking about what's next...
- Babies...when? How many? ...Disclaimer: we are not ready yet. Everyone thinks I'm trying to get pregnant when I post about cycle syncing foods for the ovulation phase insta stories...this just means foods that "support" that phase of your cycle, not foods that give you anything more than a food baby :) BUT I am really excited to have more time to go home and spend with my nieces and nephews and be BAE (best auntie eva).
- Home...we absolutely love (are obsessed) with our apartment and never want to leave BUT we do need to think about eventually buying...when is the right time? Where do we live?
- Passions...we now have some more time to pursue our passions (or side hustles!). What are they? What makes us excited to wake up? ...
- Haircut? My wife-chop was my immediate adjustment to all of this change. New married me = new married haircut. I've been wanting to try the lob for so long, especially after growing my hair out for the last year for the wedding. I love it. It's been so much easier to wash and style...and less hair falls out in the shower!
I'm excited to take you guys with me on this journey into wife-life. My goal is to be as candid and open as possible about the ups and downs as I transition into this next chapter of...life!
xx,
lex
